Turn On The Fun Newsletter Vol 2 Issue 4 April 2009 © Sunset Promotions, Inc. 2009
|
Dear Reader, Have you ever wondered where you would be when you reach a certain age or that you could even get there? Like, when you were 10, did you think about what it would be like when you hit 21? Sure you did.
Back in the day I remember when we always said we never trusted anyone over 35. Actually, if the truth be told, I still feel that way; for the most part. Look at all the greed and petty lies from some of the people running big businesses today. All of them are over 35. What is it about that age group that permits them to turn to their evil ways? Is it because they loose touch with reality or were they always that way and it is now coming to light?
Only a few years ago I thought anyone between 18 and 25 were really smart and I wanted to hire as many as I could to help me run my business. What is it about the young (under 35) that we now recognize as the most valuable asset in the world? Well, the first aspect is their inability to understand risk as we know it today. Second, they have that gumption to succeed, whatever that means. Third, they are brilliant with technology. And, fourth, they have had a good life although to hear them speak you'd think they are like Abe Lincoln who had to walk 5-miles to school - they want a better life for their offspring as well; better then they perceive they have had.
I have two sons. Both are dynamically opposite of each other and rightly so. Both are brilliant in their own right. One turned 40 about a month ago although he is so technically advanced, I look at myself and wonder (more on that later). The other son will turn 35 in a couple of months. Both have degrees from prestigious universities. One of them has an advanced degree.
Only time will tell where they and their peers will take our world. I've made up my mind that better opportunities, better businesses, and better everything will be the future with their generation.

What's New On Virtual Galleries
|
The first of many photographer web sites has been posted. It is there for viewing. Eventually, we'll have links to where you can purchase the photos at reasonable prices. For now, the general link will be on its home page. Click the image to the left for the link.
Some may wonder how I'm choosing who goes first. It has to do with three aspects.
- How active is the photographer with getting me updates for his/her catalog
- How many photos there are in the catalog
- Photographer communication
The next photographer to go up is Amieds Productions and then Najar Photography. _________________________________________

Auto Shows in Michigan
|

Photo by Amieds Productions from the album Auto Shows of Michigan.
I'm interested in locating a manager for this two day event to manage what we do. The position, for now is as a volunteer and help to produce and organize a TV show, over public television, with the focus on the good people who make this a nice event - the people who show off their cars and the visitors who come to it. A tall idea. It can work with the right set of people who have a passion for this sort of thing. Based on my early information, it will be held on August 28/29 (Friday/Saturday). Oh, by the way, we are NOT connected in any way by membership or otherwise to the event organizers. Not withstanding the fact that they have one cool web site up and running. Click on the big picture. And, we have our own sponsors, our own volunteers, our own staffing, and our own expenses.
If you are interested either as a photographer, volunteer with the behind the scenes work, that manager I'm looking for, or any other part of our effort, send an email to me. If you are a student with GVSU, Ferris U, Aquinas College you might be able to get internship credit - check with your advisors and have them get in contact with me. _____________________________________________

You've Got to be Kidding Me America
|
Episodes 2, 3, and 4 for the Internet are now on-line at the web site - click here or on the logo to the left. Episodes 3 and 4 were released on 4/12/2009. They are posted on FaceBook, MySpace, and a number of other sites. Ever had one of those days when you were confronted with absurdities? So much so that you remarked "you've got to be kidding me". Well, one of our clients is producing a Community Television production that broadcasts over wktv.org through the Comcast Cable Channels. It
reflects really good bone-head satire about life in general. Filmed in
Grand Rapids Michigan the video presents several clips that show some of the dumb myths that exist in today's society. It looks at all those things
that we observe as totally unbelievable yet these things do happen, not
just on this film but also every day life. All the weird stuff that you
can imagine. Enjoy, because America you've got to be kidding me. Watch new episodes every week on WKTV shown through the Comcast Cable network on Tuesday @ 11:00 p.m. and Thursday @ 1:00 a.m. Video logo design by Bryan Riess, Executive Producer, Editor, and Head Writer for 'You've Got to be Kidding Me America'. More information on the background of Bryan and the rest of the volunteers can be found here. For now, it is a roughed in web site until our design engineers finish up the real one. _____________________________________________

It's Tax Time!
|
Forgot to do your taxes? Still need assistance or feel you didn't get a fair shake from those freebie sites? Then give MAS a call. Click on the logo. If you are a renter in Michigan, did you know you can get money back on a portion of what you pay in your rent? Surprising to know that many people don't know about that cute little tax break the state gives. Call MAS today about it. And, while you are at it, have them take a look at the last three years of all your returns. You might be surprised at the results. Why wait? Do it today. _____________________________________________
